Biography
Kamini Bhargava LaRusso has been teaching Suzuki Violin since 2001. Currently, she teaches Suzuki Violin Private and Group lessons, and directs Vivace Violins, an advanced performing ensemble.

Kamini grew up in Madison, WI. She studied both the piano and violin, participated in her public school string programs, and played in the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras for 10 years. She attended Colby College in Waterville, ME, earning a bachelor’s degree in music with a violin performance concentration. Kamini had the fortune of studying violin intensively with Teri Einfeldt in Cleveland, Ohio for ten months, in preparation for Masters Degree Auditions. She completed her Masters in Suzuki Pedagogy and Violin performance at the University of Denver, CO. After graduating in 2003, Kamini created a Suzuki Violin program within a public school in Littleton, CO at the Centennial Academy of Fine Arts prior to coming to MacPhail Center for Music in 2007. Her major teachers are Marjorie Peters, Mary Jo Carlson, Teri Einfeldt and James Maurer.

Kamini currently plays in the first violin section of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and performs frequently in MacPhail ensembles and in community performances. She is a Suzuki violin practice partner to her two children. Kamini served as Assistant Director of the MacPhail Suzuki Program from May 2012 to October 2021. Kamini Co-Chaired the 2020 Suzuki Association of the Americas Conference. She has served on the Board for the Suzuki Association of MN, and was the Graduation Recital and Facilities coordinator for several years. She also enjoys spending time with family, friends and neighbors, volunteering at her children’s school and travelling.

She is delighted to have an opportunity to work with so many wonderfully inspired and motivated students, families and colleagues to continue the forward vision of Shinichi Suzuki.
